Default Rear heat shield ??

The Fender... GONE... Signals.. GONE... Reflectors.. GONE.... Tag? Thanks Comp Werks. Signals? Thanks Clear Alternatives. Quiet Exhaust? NO MORE... thanks Two Brothers..

So any foo.. I did the clear alternatives tail light today. Not bad. Was disapointed in the fact that they did not bother to put connectors on for the signals... these are cheap to do... and make me guess at the wiring for the signals? How Hoaky... but it seems to work well... I disassembled the factory signal ends on the fender side, kept the ground out, and just used the hot hire.. cut it soldered, and heat shrinked.. bam, looks factory. good enuff..

So any way, my dilema. With the Two Brothers, and the factory heat shield still there it looks like ***. I was going to cut the sides off, and just trim it to the contour of the tail... but then, why can't I just get rid of it? The carpet fiber, farbon ciber... (snicker) can runs cooler then stock...

Anyone just taken off the rear heat shield all together to expose the sides of the exhaust? Any negative effects? more heat in the ***? anything? If so, I'll just trim it, and figure a way to trick it a bit... I have somethig in mind, and will take pics if I do it. Thanks in advance.

I've read on here somewhere that someone removed the heat shield and said it didn't make a difference. I've look for it but I can't find it... but I do remember reading it.

I have the Yosh RS-5 carbon fiber exhaust and they supplied a piece of aluminum tape to replace the heat shield. I haven't had any problems with heat from the exhaust.

Ya I got the Yoshi and they give you one. You can get the heat shield stuff that is adhesive, like tape, at autoparts stores. That way you can remove the stock one, put on the new kind and have the best of both.
