Default Rear brake dragging

So I was cleaning my back rim the other day up on the swingarm stand, and as I rotated the rear wheel (trying to see how *free* it was) I noticed that the brake was dragging. It's not a problem just annoying now that I know its there. Also how do I know when to replace the pads, is it like a car are there screech tabs? lol

I'm not 100% but i think the brake's natrually drag a bit...if the wheel is locked down obviously something is wrong, but if its just a light rub that's probably normal...ride without using your rear brake for a few miles and the rotor is really hot id put some concern into it. If you've done brakes on a car you can prolly handle the bike, as far as wear that's all on the rider but you can blatently see if there is pad left

Yeah, Ive been a self proclaimed mechanic for while now so changing the pads is child's play.

I just got my recall done on the 03. Seems worse after they did it, but the biggest shop in milwaukee cant even get it right. after they did it the rear brake light wouldnt go on, they forgot to attach the spring on the adjuster. Would look into the recall, but you can also service the calipers if there is too much drag, depending on how clean u keep it.
