Default Popping the clutch

My battery is dead, and I've been pushing it and popping the clutch in 2nd gear to get it started. My question is: Is this bad, and if so how much damage have I caused already? I've done it probably a dozen times, give or take a few.

It's my only means of transportation right now, that's why I'm doing it at all, and I don't have the cash right now to get a new battery.

roll starting anything isn't really the greatest way to go. I mean if you have to, you have to. You're not really damaging anything in the motor, but I can assure you the tranny isn't happy with you. I would save up a few bones and get a new battery, or borrow from somebody.

Doing it just a few times probably isn't too bad, but you're clutch and tranny probably doesn't like it very much over a period of time...

I'd be looking to remedy the problem asap.

not a fan of this, but in a pinch , you could throw in a $40 walmart battery.
