Point proven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Forget bent forks and new suspension. Now you know why your bike handles the way it does.

My bike sets a good 1 1/2 to 2 inches lower than my friends

Sorry to rain on your paraid but I have a friend with a lowerd ( 3") susuki black and orange forget what size it was. Kyle a guy I know works at the jail house I'll give you his number if ya want so you can get a second opinion, anyway his bike corners like it's on rails also he is my weight and he can drag a knee at any time.Other things have been done on the bikeit even had a larger engine in it at one time the guy that owned it ran it on the track, LOWERED, so it was not the fact of it setting lower that causes my problem. Besids it's 90% mental so what does it matter what height the bike is...LOL, also I have been told that the forks could have been bent by being tied to tightly in the truck and that can even bend the frame. I'm not sure about that havn't looked into it yet but thats what I've been told.I highly doubt that the 150 man that test drove my bike had a problem with it setting too low, yet he had a problem turning the bike as well. These are two different situatins but I apreciate the attempt to connect the two problems I wish it was just a hight problem but I fear it is somthing much more difficult to fix. or I could just lower the forks in the tree, incraese the pre-loadand what not to get it back up in the air and all would be well. Round and round we go. I wonder if there are any suspension technitions on this site I would love to get some info from them. I don't think that there is a problem lowering the bike and there is no real proof that itcauses problems. I am however glad that I am 6'1" so I don't have to worry.

im 5'6 and have no problem at stoplights. i just leave my right foot on the right pegand lean the bike a little to the left and stand with the weight on my left foot. having my feet flat footed on the ground on a lowered rr would make me feel like im riding a cruiser, yawn. lol.

FRETLESS33,
The tape on your lights is it like perforated so that it stays on always or is that tape that you remove, I cant tell from your picture.

I just thought I would throw my 2 cents in here. I've been riding for about 3 months now. I am 5'5" without shoes, lets say 5'6" with shoes. I have a Yamaha that has been lowered 1.5 inches which I bought when I first started riding. Since I got it I have put over 2500 miles on her, combined street / highway / commuting / messing around miles. I got it lowered about a week after purchasing the bike.
Yes, even though I only rode the bike a week before lowering it, the handling of the bike changed enough for me to notice. Turn-ins are slower, and any working through some twisties takes MUCH more effort, really you gotta dig in with your arms and turn or end up crossing the double yellows and kissing a windshield from an oncoming car. Will I ever take the Yamaha to a track? Probably not. Is the difference in handling different? Absolutely. Is it unbearable? No, it is not. Does it make the bike harder to toss? Yes.
Not insanely bad handling, you have to get used to it.
Fast foward 3 months to current day.. I my buddy is keeping his 06 CBR600RR at my house ( thats why I came on the boards, LOL). His bike is totally stock save a Yoshi pipe. The seat is FRIGGIN high compared to my lowered Yamaha. I thought I would be scared to take it out... but honestly, with the experience I have gained in the past three months, my confidence level is soooooo much higher than it was when I first started riding, its not an issue. I love it, handles so much easier, and I am confident enough in my own riding abilities that I dont mind leaning on the left foot at stops. Also my clutch control has developed enough to where I have muuuuuuch better low speed clutch feathering... so sometimes I can survive without even putting my foot down.
I guess my point is, initially when I first started riding, I was scared shi*less about not being able to get both feet down.. but after some stalls, near lowsides, dodging SUV's in Orange County, riding in some twisties, lane splitting here and there... basically RIDING.. my confidence level ( I think) has come up to where I don't think I need to have a lowered bike anymore.
Just my opinion.
