need some tech info on a 600RR
I dont know how you check the oil, how much oil is recommended, or how much coolant to put in... Also what type of coolant is best, and what type of oil is best. I have 10w-40 right now. I dont have the handbook, tried to down load it didn't work out so if any one know whats best, please fill me in. I am rather new to the bike thing, so yea. THANKS IN ADVANCE......

RE: need some tech info on a 600RR
You didn't say what year the bike is, but this is from the 03 600 rr honda owners manual.
1. Checking the Oil-- park the bike on it's sidestand on a firm level surface, start the engine and let it idle for 3-5 minutes, stop the engine and wait 2-3 minutes. Hold the bike in an upright position. Find the inspection window (it's on the right side of the engine, below the clutch cover and there should be a hole in your fairing to see through to it, it looks like a porthole on the side of a boat) there's two lines on the inspection window, an upper and a lower. Make sure the oil level is between the two marks. Check the picture at the bottom for the oil window and level lines.
2. The 03 600rr holds 3.1 u.s. quarts of oil.
3. coolant capacity is 3.4 quarts in the radiator and engine and .32 quarts in the reserve tank
4. Per the instruction manual use a high quality ethylene glycol antifreeze with distilled water (one part antifreeze to one part distilled water) with corrosion protection specifically for aluminum engines (check the label on the bottles). Do not use coolant with silicate inhibitors (it can damage the water pump seals and block the radiator).
5. The book recommends 10-40 oils that are not labeled "energy conserving" (check the round seal on the bottle label).
hope this helps
