Default need help with new purchase

i currently ride a '95 600 f3 smokin joe. luv it. but... the tech has changed so much and the bike is staring to nickle and dime me just a lil. to be expected with a 15 year old bike.

my prob...

a local bike shop has a '07 600rr but it has 17k miles. the guy at the Honda dealer said thats not that big of a deal but its a lot for a '07. he added that it doesn't require/recommend a valve service til 32k miles. we agreed the asking price of 5.5k was a lil steep tho, everything is negotiable... whatev. he wants me to buy an '09 for 8'4k but he only has red and i was hoping to get away from another red bike. (my smokin joe was painted red by the previous owner).

so...

do i buy the white/silver '07 with all the miles or do i try and talk down the dealership and see if i cant get the '09 a lil cheaper...

i cant make my own decisions... never could... please help

Thats almost a 3000 dollar difference between the 2 but I would probably take the 07. There right about the valve adjustment, Hondas go a long ways because there adjustment is done with some really small shims under the lifter cap that can go a long way. M

Sorry wrong key, my friend has 38,000 miles on his cbr 600rr and it is still going strong so 17,000 is not bad. If I could afford it though I would go with the 09. Johnnyh

go with the 07, speaking from experience (look at older post in this same thread, i had a similar situation)

every bike shop ive gone to has told me that mileage on a bike is not that serious unless its exagerrated. i just bought an 07 with 13K. bike looks like it has 100 miles on it....notice its condition and offer him 5k for it (it would be better if you had cash) you wont be dissapointed this bike is great...i bought it about a week ago and i havnt put it down ever since

I'd go with the 09. Dealer = warranty and you won't have to worry about nickels & dimes till it runs out.

The 07' would be my choice... I mean honestly you definitely couldn't go wrong, I had a buddy of mine talk guys down on a similar bike 1500 bucks. Yeah, that's a steal, and on top of that, HONDA'S RUN FOREVER. My F2 is a 1992 and has close to 70,000 on it, (I got her at 68,000, had a wreck on her, and she still runs amazingly strong. Yeah, I'd definitely take the 07'. Save the rest of that cash and then when you trade in the 07' get a CBR1000! That is what is up my friend.

damn that sucks, someone else probably had the same dilema and decided to go with that one...

that was one of my biggest fears when i was purchasing mine.....i knew it was a good deal so i said...ehh what the heck....and i have yet to find a better deal lol.....

but dont worry about that people sell bikes and you will find a good deal somewhere else......

thinking about it this same situation did happen to me....but with an 06 i believe....i was soo anxious and worried for about a week and a half....the day i said "phuk it" let me go ahead and buy the bike it was sold already....im glad it did cause then i wouldnt have been able to get the bike i have now lol

so keep your head up and continue your search
