Default Need Advice on Purchase

I'm looking at a used 2007 CBR600RR with less than 200 miles on it; however it's been dropped twice. The bike had frame sliders installed, so the only damage done was a scratch to the right engine cover and side mirror.

They are asking $5,900.

My question is, is this a good deal or can I do better - especially since it's been dropped?

Thanks.

Damn its been dropped 2 times and has less than 200 miles on it? The bikes going on 3 years old and it has not even been broken in.... I have saw plenty of 07's for sale around me that haven't been dropped/wrecked going for around $4500, I would keep looking...

You can do way better. I mean 200 miles is sweet but it has been dropped twice and there are battle scares to show it. I picked up a 07 RR recently with 2600 miles on it, bone stock except for sliders. I think it might have been dropped once because the left slider is marked up on the end but other than that the bike is flawless, not a scratch on it. I paid $5200 with a helmet and a sweet Joe Rocket Honda jacket.

So the fact that its a 2007 and dropped makes it nothing special, even with the low miles. Thanks for your replies. Ill keep looking.

R Dub, that 07 600RR looks sweet...

Thanks man. Yeah I love that bike. I'm not sure where you live as that will have an effect on the price you pay but if it is just s scratch on the engine cover and mirror those can be replaced pretty cheap but I would offer him like $5 max. Tell him you have to fix those things.

I low-balled it with $4500 to see what he would come back with and he seems firm on $5,900. I reminded him that this isn't time to sell with economy and winter setting in, and he told me he wasn't in a hurry to sell. I think he believes the drop counters the low miles and wants book retail value for it. Engine cover and side mirror wont be expensive to replace. Just afraid that it will be more than that once I dig into it. I really want to buy it, but I just now started to look and don't want to be impulsive. Looks a lot like your bike too.

That and my parents don't want me to get a bike and are wanting to pay me $20k not to get one. Ha. Should have wanted a bike a long time ago.

I just purchased a 2009 600RR with 1,120miles on it. Mint condition. Yoshi exhaust / seat cowl / fender elem / tinted windscreen for 7,000.

I'd shop around.

WOW! I bet it didn't take you long to decide on that purchase. I figured most bikes I see for sell aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so I am definitly going to shop around.

Yeah I felt it was a great price so I went for it. And yes winter is a good time, you'll have plenty of time to find the right one.
