About 10 days ago, i just bought a 2006 CBR600RR. This is my second street bike. First was a Yamaha. However, when i shift, there is a major clacking noise of metal on metal. Is this normal since is is brand new and getting worked in. I know my shifting isnt that off. Let me know. Thanks

 

It's the character of motorcycle transmissions, but Honda's tends to be a bit louder than others...

 

i get the noise as well. Same thing happened on my 2004 Kawi EX500. i hear it on my brother's RC51, on his F2, and i hear it on my honda 4 wheeler. I've come to the understanding that it's normal.

 

Ok. Because you can hear it over the exhaust and people can here it behind me when they follow me in their cars and their windows are down.
