Hi everyone,
I'm new to the bike world, and I just bought my CBR last Friday. I specifically financed through a company that wouldn't require full coverage so I could just get liability. Full coverage for me (25 yr old male, married, clean record for 9.5 yrs) was $2200 with progressive.

Now, I was in disbelief when I was reading all these postings about State Farm, so I called them for myself.

Man, Gieco ain't got anything on State Farm. 5 minutes could save you 90%. They quoted me full coverage at $341. [:-]

Make the call, it possible that it could save you TONS of money....

I had the same thing happen to me with progressive. I checked Geico and they wanted 1200 a year. For kicks I called my current provider who does our two cars and house and they gave it to me for 600 a year full coverage. We use AAA Insurance which has other benefits too. I am older and I don't have any tickets so that goes in my favor, but they are one of the big ones and I was pleasantly surprised.

I got an OK quote from progressive. 2500 a year full coverage. Im 23, single, have speeding violations, safety course, licensed 7+ years. For liability it was dirt cheap. But i have full coverage and gap insurance to cover any difference between stated value and financed value. my bike will be paid off if anything happens to it. Alot of people stack on race bikes, gotta pay to play

I went wite Country Insurance they only go by the cc rating and not the type of bike. It dose make a difference on your credit score(allthough it shouldn't) but I'm paying $24 a month on a 05 cbr600rr

As posted earlier (sorry I dont get on here much) I pay 29.00 a month full coverage. Im 31, only have permit and brand new bike. Of course I have a car financed through them and my other cars and home owners thorugh them too. State farm doesnt go by exp just age and prior accidents. I got a nice discount cuz Ive been with them for years and years and all my vehicles are insured with them. they dont even care if its a sport bike or not they just go by the cc of the bike. I asked the lady who did mine up and she said they dont care if its a race bike or harley or whatever you pay more for more power i guess. Ive been happy with them and happy with my new bike. Now if I could just pass the driving test .

I had an awesome ins carrier last year. $480/year for full coverage $100 deductables. Something that good just couldnt last. I got a DUI in september and that particular carrier doesnt insure high risk clients. So i moved it over to progressive and now I'm paying $680 year for Liability. Thats the best rate that i could find anywhere, and trust me, I looked. If I would have went with Full Coverage, the best rate I could find was $3000/year. And no way am i ready to pay that. I'll just make sure to keep the stunts to a minimum for a while until next march i turn 25 and my rates will drop considerably.
