Default Idleing higher for some reason.

Normally my bike idles around 1500rpm but lately its has been around 2000. But its on and off. Just the other day it was doing fine and hung around 1.5k and now today its back at 2k again. This is after its warmed up and ridden.

It has been cold here(like 15F low and high is mid 30s). Would this cold temp cause it to idle higher?

There is oil and everything seems to be fine.

I cant figure out what would cause this? Anyone have any ideas?

Per the service manual it says:

1. Check throttle operation and throttle grip freeplay
2. Intake air leak
3. IACV operation

I would say you might want to check your air cleaner too just to make sure it is not all clogged up causing the motor having to work harder to breathe.

500 rpm in cold weather is nothing to worry about. It has to work harder to stay warm when it's 20*F outside. You could check everything that RDub mentioned, but I doubt anything is wrong. I would vote +1 on the air filter though. It happens.
