bike idles fine in neutral....when put into gear it jumps up 2k in rpm's

ideas?

 

had an issue with mine idling at 5k. sorry i dont know name but ill try to explain what was wrong with mine. Their is a cable that connects under your throttle body. Mine sits out on left side of bike under the plastics, its a black cable and has phillips screw on the end. try adjusting that and it may help i found out mine broke and i had to replace the cable and idle control valve thing it went into. only 75 bucks from dealership so good luck

 

idle air control valve (IAC) it routes air around the throttle blades at idle and at open partial or wot it should stay closed but if your having a issue with the idle its prob sticking or freaking out for one reason or another
