Convince me why i should get one.
He I am looking at a new 07 600RR no miles at a dealer. they marked it down to $8500 because its an older model. It still has full factory warranty. I am in Alaska and the riding season is only about 5 months long at most. This will be my first bike. I am 50/50 on weather i should get the bike or not. I really want a bike but i don't know if its worth getting one and not being able to ride it less then half the year. And i will have to get a heated storage locker for the winter at about $50 a month. So what do you think?

If you having nothing good to say, how about you say nothing at all? I say if you want one, look at your options, the pros and cons to having one and then make your decision. I wouldn't be caught dead on a motorcycle in Alaska...... but then again, I wouldn't be caught dead IN Alaska lol. I "HATE" the cold.

Man its the best rush in the world and 5 months of riding is short but sweet. Once you get one you wont regret it I promise. I also heard the are some amazing roads in Alaska such as the alcan highway. Now that price is nothing special but then again I dont know how prices go up there. I live in Ohio and you cant even get an 07 at a dealer. I say if you have been wanting one and have the money then go for it!

Mate ..
Who gives a **** who recons what...
Its you that counts ...If you want the thrill of cruising along on a CBR for 5 mths a year ...WTF why not!!! just do it some riders here leave their rides parked for longer than you might think .. especially the boy racer show bike types (no names mentioned) that get there shinny brand new looking,... looks like shes never been ridden CBR out on sunday afternoon, for 50 miles then park it again for the week ...
lets do some simple hypothisis math...
Another way of looking at it
Someone in Cal rides 100miles a week... for 12 mths 5200 miles..per year
You only have to ride 200 mile per week for 5 mths 4000 miles per year
but at the end of the day ...it does not matter wether you are a sunday rider ...a 1000miles a year rider , or a 10000 mile per year rider ...
NON OF THAT MATTERS!!!
buy her and enjoy what ever and how ever much you can where ever you may live , is what I recon...
My only other advise is that , you can spend very little,
(alot less than your mentioned buget!!! , to get a very nice 600CBR...and then you are at least noit looking at an expensive un used toy for 7 mths a year...
buy a ride , have some fun , feel great for 5 mths each year and floppin hell take care on those Alaskan roads mate ...
Pollar bears DO worry me ??? LOL

Hay thanks for the replies. I looked around for a used one and i found a nice 03 600rr with 1400 miles for $5000 with a full set of riding gear. The guy is about the same size as me so i hope it fits but if it doesn't i can always sell it to get new gear. The bike looks new and still has the "chicken strips" on the tires.
