Reedub, OTD means out the door, which includes tax, license and set up fees, ect.

anyhow, I got an 08 Grafitti for 11,100 OTD. From a dealer in So. Cal.
Actually, $7899 WAS the OTD price. Let me make sure you understand, I gave the dealer a check for $7899, and the saleman was helping me push the bike onto my pickup truck. End of story, period.

I just negotiated with the dealer to pay all of the state taxes, fees and tag costs on my own, rather than pay those amounts to him PLUS pay him to handle all of paperwork. It was a way for me to save all of those handleing costs and fees that are usually passed on to the buyer by the dealership.

To be accurate though, I added those amounts in my post. Maybe it would have helped if I had said my FINAL out of pocket cost was $8220.

Seems to be a pretty respectable price at any rate, when I look at some of the prices being paid around the county.

Shoot! from what I've seen that is a very respectable price around the COUNTRY. Im still waiting to find my deal[sm=sigh.gif]its harder to find the killer deals than I thought it would be

I bought mine used in late September/early October, the previous owner bought it in May of '07 so it was basically brand new. Anyhow, I paid $9000 for the bike including the mods he had on it (FE Kit, Frame Sliders, Swingarm Sliders, LED turnsignals, tank pad, and a Puig Windscreen) and a helmet; the bike only had 3220 miles on it. Not the greatest deal but it was local and I got to check it out before buying and most of all I was helping the guy out.

$8300 out the door, Charleston, SC.

Any dealer with a 2007 in stock now should have a really low price
since the 08's are available now.

I'm really interested in what y'all think in this thread, cuz I'm buying a CBR this month. Either 2007 or 2008. We'll see.

I have a the option of getting a"used" 2007 CBR 600RR with only 200 miles on it.They're offering 10K OTD. How much should that go for??????? I'm thinkin more around 8K to 8500, or else just go new.

Any advice appreciated.

10 sounds like a rip off. like they said, the 08s are out so 07s should be a lot cheaper, especially if it has 200 miles. mine had 28 on it and i got it for 1600 less than sticker (9600-1600=8000. 8900 otd). try to haggle or hold out for the 08 imo.

How did you get away with not paying the whole 5% sales tax to the Virginia dept of motor vehicles? Cuz just the sales tax on 7899 would bring your OUT of POCKET cost to 8293, plus registration. Hmmmmmmmm ,maybe my calculator is broken.

Redrum,
Pretty sure that the tax I was charged was 4%. The licence tag fee was a little higher because I got personalized tags.

Thanks Chris. Things changed today though. Instead of using the Honda credit, my bank just threw10 G's in my account on a motorcycle loan. So I'm blowing of the semi-used one and am either gonna try to get a steal on an 07 or just get the 08. I'll get back on here and let y'all know what I pulled off, which should be the second week in Jan. (Gotta take the MSF course first on the 5th and 6th.)

And by the way...this forum rocks.
