Thanks for all your suggestions in my previous post. I am going to get the 2007 CBR 600RR(Red with black stripes).

What do I need to check when I get it from the dealer. Any important questions that I need to ask?

The dealer should go over the pre-sale inspection checklist with you. Major things to check is just tire pressure (if it's been sitting for a while). Other than that, I really can't think of anything else you would need to check.

 

find everything you can to bring down the price. When they say a price, counter offer... when they agree to one with you.. counter offer to that price WITH FULL GEAR and maybe a few oil changes (:
you could even shoot for warranty and tires too!

if they are not willing to work with you, just walk out... they will do anything to sell a vehicle (car dealership, motorcycle dealership, anything)... they will take even what they pay depending on how long it sits.... costs them more to sit there than to rid it.

Thats a tricky situation now tho Gary... its riding season and the dealers know that they are not going to be desperate to sell bikes... for every one that walks out two more will walk in

 

Congrats! .. you are making a wise choice by saving yourself a few hundred dollars for the same bike. Now take that money and invested it into quality gear

 

I agree with you on the riding season part, but people are still trying to save money by spending less on things that are not necessary. I went to a dealership just browsing and they had an 05gsxr600 (i went looking for a honda, but they didnt have any used ones) and they wanted 8k at first. I talked the guy down to 7100 for the bike with 1 full set of gear (helmet, gloves, jacket, leggings, and boots). I also told him I was not sure about the bike yet as i was waiting for my loan... Even not being fully interested in the bike, they were willing to drop a LOT, probably more than I had them. With how the market is now (down here in Florida... it's different depending on where you live), the economy is so low that dealerships NEED to sell cars whether they lose money or not because the 09's will be in soon and they still have 07's on the lot... I hope you get a good deal!

I think you should try to get a loan from you bank (personal or used auto loan) and then buy from a private seller because you'll get a MUCH better deal... my bank turned me down since i got a car loan from them 2 months ago... so i had to barrow it from my dad at 7% lol. your personal bank will usually give better rates too!

Its a brand new bike, shouldnt really be anything you need to check. Should all be squared away.

 

I got my first sport bike. YAY. but couple of noob questions.

1. I would like to know at what rpm you guys start shifting gears at each level. I kind of feel shifting too fast!

2. I am kind of feeling slight pain or stress on my writst. I am guessing my riding position is not right.

When i bought my 07 they wouldnt come down much on the price because honda regulates most of it. BUT! Accessories man! have them throw in some stuff and or a discount. i got a shoei helmet, boots, gloves, jacket etc. all at 25% off. My helmet was $700 and so on so i saved a couple hun on accessories. get you some gear son!
