Ok, so EVERYONE is telling me the rs-5 Yosh is the pipe to get! I saw AND heard one today on a kansas wide bike run! Now, my question is, his was an 03 mine is an 05, and he SAYS that it is his ONLY mod! He weighs probably 3 pounds or so less than me, but had his pregnant wife on the back ( probably 130#'s) and with both of us cruising at 70 in 6th, we rolled into 'em and he SPANKED me! like HARD CORE!!!! Is this RIGHT????????? Does the exhaust ALONE open them up THAT much???????

 

Man, I don't know. Everything I've read says the best pipes will give you at most 4 HP and I don't think that is enough to spank you with an extra 130 lbs on back. Maybe he did something like down shift or clutch it and will not tell you. Are you going to get one? How did it look and sound?

yosh is not the way to go. My friends got a yosh on his rr and its an 03 and he hung behind me by a 1/2 of a bike on several runs... and we had only exhaust and a pc...

you want good mods, hit me up with a pm. I could TRASH your bike full of rediculous ball dropping mods, and probably hook you up with good prices if you order online from my company or over the phone.

 

I have to say, it sounded PRETTY good! It looked fine too! I at first thought it was a little farther out than I liked, but then, I realized it's NO farther than your stock muffler!!!!!!!! But, I'm ALWAYS open for suggestions! I'm almost thinking of riding BONE stock for a while, saving money and buying a turbo kit I found!

 

He could have been in 5th or 4th to begin with.......

 

Well, that's what I thought, but....Just before we rolled into 'em I glanced at his tach, and I KNOW we were within 500!!!!!! I dunno! How much will a powercommander do???????? Anything else I should add????/

I put an RS-5 on my 05 1000RR and I can tell you I could not feel a difference. As far as sound, I am well pleased. And no, a power commander wont get you any ponies either. It is simply to maximize the tunage. I would have to agree that the sprocket is the best bang for the buck. But I will tell you this, stock RR's sound whimpy so you gotta get at least a pipe for the shear purpose of intimidation.
