If they work, and they stop flashing right before the fuse goes, I would say that its a short in the resistor, because if the wires were shorted in the light it should pop immediately. Also, check what the deal with your constant is, as that might have something to do with it.

ok, im going to take a whole day, take the thing apart, and go step by step with the entire shabang. maybe i will find it, maybe not, but at least ill give it my best right? man i wish i had a volt reader to make it official.

this is going to be a long day.

Volt readers are cheap hit up sears, should be able to get one for around 20 bucks.
