Default display panel

i recently changed out my headlights for some HIDs...looks killer.

everything has been fine on my bike for the past 2-3 weeks.

today, i rode fine to work...went home for lunch...when i got back on the bike to go back to work, i turned the ignition to on and saw all the lights on the display panel turn on...i mean ALL of them. even the LCD screen was all lit up with the black lines that form numbers and such... i fired up the bike thinking it would make it go away...it didn't.

all the lights stayed on in the display panel...the turn signal lights (no flashing), the REV light, all the lights were on.

i turned off the bike and took the key out...the REV light remained brightly lit...by the way, this is the first time i had even seen the REV light on. the bike is 2 months old. no bumping on the way home, no damage, etc. cables all appear to be in place...nothing appears loose...

Sounds like some sort of short or something. I would suggest, if your bike is still under warentee, swap those HID's back out, and take it to the dealer...

Could changing the bulbs to HID really cause that kind of problem?

What about the voltage? Do you know how to use a multi-meter to check if you're getting a good 12 volts while the bike is running?

that sounds like a good test..

i gave up yesterday and just pulled the battery cable....it shut off power to the bike... i put the cable back on...the reset worked...

i'm still very annoyed by that glitch though...i anticipate it will strike again...
