Default Display question

Ok, so I just got a 2001 CBR f4i and since I got the bike the reserve indicator light has been on (RES). And the gas bars start to blink one at a time. I go get gas and put in maybe a gallon then the tank is full. Other times the gas indicator is not present for a little while and then it turns on. I was wondering if someone could tell me what the display should look like if you have a full tank (i.e. should there be a tank indicator with the gas bars on th edisplay and should the RES indicator always be on). And, maybe for some reason I missed something and there is a reserve tank switch and I am just driving on the reserve tank? I am not sure. Thanks.

Default RE: Display question

I'm not sure with the older models, but it can't be much different than the new. On my bike, my reserve bars only come on when I'm almost out of gas. When there's a full tank there is no indicator. The RR is just the opposite, the indicator is always on. Your bike should get about 120-140 miles on a full tank depending on how fast you go. I hope that helped some.

Maybe there is a low level switch inside the tank that is out of whack, my bike takes abot 2.5 to 3 gallons when the reserve bars start, about 120-140 miles.

I don't believe you have a reserve tank.

That is what I am thinking. There has to be some computer malfunction. Cause there are times when no gas bars are on the display and then there are times when they are there. And I only go like 30 miles max before they come on.
