Default loose bar end

I recently made the mistake of leaving my 03 F4i outside overnight during which someone slipped off my yoshimura slip on (which I had for 5 days) and for good measure apparently gave my handle bar a good kick on the throttle side.

Along with my missing exhaust, now I have a bar end on the throttle side that wiggles around some as well as a wheel lock with more play when locked on the left side.

I tried to tighten the screw at the end of the throttle side bar end but even completely tight still leaves a looseness on the bar end.

My question is how much do I need to worry about these damages? Are there any unforseen dangers that I am not aware about concerning this damage because as of now everything feels and appears fine on the road?

Any info will help. Thanks in advance.

bar end isn't going to do much. wheel lock? you mean from the key or what?
if so, look at the frame on each side of the triples...you'll see 2 metal tabs that prevent the handlebar from going too far...one may have busted.

as far as the end, as long as it doesn't fall off you're ok.

sorry to hear about them thieving bastards!

tell ya right now i bet they tried to break your handle bar lock to try and hot wire the bike and then once that failed they took the slip on. When i lived in orlando people were getting there bikes stolen like crazy. Every one of them had the handlebar lock broke and then was hot wired. Sorry bout your loss and the only thing i can suggest is a couple weeks from now or when things have cooled down, is to leave the bike in the same area and post up in the bushes witn your friend "louis" and see what they have to do then.

Check this post out for information on your handle bar weight (bar end).

I agree with wantafastf4i, they were trying to defeat your handle bar lock. Your lucky your bike was still there.

Thanks for all your input. I guess I'll just consider myself lucky that my bike was still there and take it as a lesson learned. I'll check out those bar locks to see if one's busted or bent and replace it as needed. I appreciate all the help.
