If you find out what is causing this, please post up. I've got the same problem.

My bike is stock.

My battery was dead. Charged it on a trickle charger put it on the bike. It started and ran fine. Put a battery tender on it so as to keep the battery good and the next time I tried starting it no fire. I tried starting it with the battery tender still attached. (don't know if this makes a difference but I'm trying to give you all the info.) When I turn the key on now the gauge cluster cycles, the fuel pump primes, but when I hit the button the starter turns the motor but the motor doesn't want to fire.

Nevermind. My problem was solved. A little to much fuel in the cylinders was my problem.

as you were saying the battery is old how about borrowing a battery or charging the one you have and see if that works out. I personnally think it's the battery that is the cause. Cheap battery last about a year while that one that are over the 100 dollar mark can last 3 to 4 years.

my friend and I had the same problems. the majority problem with batteries in a cbr is the regulator/rectifier. Its a pretty cheap part, but it might be worth trying to see if thats the problem

As i understand it, you are getting power from your battery at "IGNITION ON", the fuel pump primes, the meter cycles, and the starter is turning the crankshaft when you press the start button. what you are lacking is the big BOOM that happens soon there after. It's not sputtering at all, correct?[/QUOTE]

Brother!!
i got the same problem 2 days ago! And as you have described, it is exactly the same thing. Kindly, help me out if you know the sloution?

it would be best to start your own thread in the F4i section. This one is a 600rr thread from 12 years ago....
