another noob question

Default another noob question

hey, i have heard a few different things about bikes wit a salvage title. if a bike becomes laid down, does it automatically get a salvage title? even if the frame, forks, etc..are fine?

not necessarily...correct me if im wrong but it can still have a clean title if it is fixed properly and given a clean title. That is the impression I was under at least

Form what I undertood about this a bike is given a salvage title when it is totaled out. Or insurance has paid for the bike and sold it to a junkyard. This means that they will not let you buy the bike from the yard get it running and lay it down and get full price for it again. They don't want to pay twice for the same bike. so the title is marked as salvage. If you bring the bike back to new then you may be able to get a new title but the insurance companies still know it wa not perfenct so you don't get the full price. There is more to it I am sure but this is a large part from what I understand. But I don't work for the DMV or title office.
