Default 16000 mile service

Im coming upon my 1600 mile service and i know a valve adjustment is neccessary. What does this usually cost to get done? I would like to know what to expect to have to pay.

a valve adjustment may not be needed. What is supposed to be done is a valve check. If the check shows that the valves are out of spec, then an adjustment is needed. Be prepared to spend in excess of $400 from a Honda dealership to do this work (and that's only the check, if adjustment is needed that price goes up).

If you are mechanically inclined, you can do the check yourself (and the adjustment too). Get the factory service manual (not clymer, not haynes). This may also help:

While you're doing that, you should also flush your coolant:

and sync your throttle bodies:

as those are also done at 16k (the dealer would charge you even more to do those).

^ Great post. By the way, Shortys, are you coming up on 1,600 or 16,000 miles?

My dealer wanted $700 to check the valves. I had to pass for now.
