Default 08 600RR Velocity Stacks?

Yo guys, I have an 08 Graffiti with a Yoshi header back. I know the the A/F's are off a little with the full exhaust so I just ordered a PCIII and K&N. I wanted to get velocity stacks also so I don't have to keep uploading maps. Unfortuneatly I can't find them for the 08's, and I also don't know very much about them? Any suggestions on prices, brands, places to buy would be very helpful and also what they do exactly and how much power I should gain. Thanks guys. Ride Safe!

Doing a search I found this write up from Jason478:

"
Longer stacks = better TQ & HP in the lowto midrange - It fills the the combustion chamber more effeciently at lower RPM's, but can't keep up with the volume demand at higher RPM's.
Short stacks = Better TQ & HP in the top - Not as efficient at lower RPM's, but is able to flow the volume required at High RPM's.

But there's actaully a lot more to it than that. The the design, shape, size, angle, flow pattern, fill rate of the heads, throttles, Airbox, etc... all play a major roll in the overall effect that changing the length of the V-stacks have."

I don't think they make them for the 08's yet? usually takes awhile for companies to start producing aftermarket parts

Yeah, I didn't think they made them yet cause i looked everywhere. crashkhanman, thanks for the input. I ride my bike pretty much daily as long as the weather is okay (1900 miles, and i've had the bike6 weeks )so i'm thinking the longer stacks would be better for me. Plus I do stand ups around the 7-10K range so the longer stacks should be ideal. Do you know though if i lose power up top or just don't gain much? Thanks a lot for the info guys. If you do happen to see them when they come out and remember my post, PM me and let me know if you could. Ride safe!

Depending on your tune, the bike could loose a small amount of power on top or just not gain any.

Okay sweet, thanks again crashkhanman. I think what i'm going to do is run a base map from dynojet with the exhaust and intake. Then when they make the stacks for the 08, go get a tune when i install them. Thanks for the info guys.

Also Stay,

Before you go for your tune...look into doing the pair mod and intake mod for the '07 and '08s. These will help give a more accurate and stable tune.
