RE: 07/08 Front Signals - options?
Ok, I installed the Hotbodies on my 07 last Sunday. I was concerned about the inset of the faring and the loss of visibility there, so I bought some foam I was going to use as an "adjustable spacer" to go between the flush mount and the faring.
After doing a test install and testing the brightness of the lights, it looked fine to me. How so? Well, those LED's are so bright- the rear part of the light sits more inside the blinker inset on the faring, but the light "reflects" off that, so it's plenty visible for me. I checked it out in daylight when out riding and I was happy with it, so I didn't end up using the foam.
Installation was a cinch- the identification for the wiring was on the back of the package (which is a time and fuse saver). I didn't have to remove the farings either. Total install time: 20 mins. 10 was spent disassembling the stock blinkers carefully to save as much wiring as possible. They included resistors, but I chose not to use them. I straight wired + and -... blocked off the third. No running light...

I have the protons on mine and soon on my wifes bike. They are the most functional and best fitting ones I have seen. If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I can get a deal on these. Here is a video of them in action. They do function as running lights and are visible from the front.

I posted this in the Mod section. I have looked at everyones signals and honestly for the price the Lockhart Philips signals are tops. The fit (perfectly flush) and quality (easily snap in to factory connections) can't be beat. They come with two sided tape for easy installation.
