Race exhaust and steer dampener? Theres lots of things you can apparently do to improve performance. I think it comes down to what you are willing to spend.

bolt on mods would include, full exhaust, jetting, ignition advancer, air filter, suspension setup.

other mods that can be done, velocity stacks, weight reduction (for every 7lbs lost will free up 1hp), better/reworked carbs, taller/diff profile cams. These are the 'fairly' simple not so expensive ones.

prolly not gonna happen with a 600 unless you juice er or turbo er.

Did I just say that???

I'm a all motor kinda guy, N/A all the way, all that other crap is for sissys!!!

And with that said, there's no replacement for displacement!!!

But as to where to find cams, google it, or I'm sure someone will chime in that knows.

The advancer ya should be able to google that as well it was a popular mod for the carb'd models. I dont really care for it tho, hits to hard.

you can also change your sprokets, go lower in the front and add teeth to the back.. will give you a little more acceleration

i riding -1 ft , +1 rear and it jumps! i love the feel.
obviously this decreases my top speed a bit , but that assumes straight lines,
the pickup is more usefull and fun for me-
if you want to throw money at your motor, decide what you want it to do diffferent and THEN decide how to get it to do that.
i was looking to drill out my air box and rejet etc... tough guy talk-
& when i looked close i saw someone already had! my box has been neatly fiberglassed back over to shut the holes, sanded and painted black- haha
i guess the guy i got it from , in his garage with a drill couldnt out engineer the genius japanese designers at honda whove been working on exactly this for years.
ima leave well enough alone till i make enough $ to blow on some dyno time and tuning, and work from there i think-
this things got more power than i can REALLY ride all the way as it is!
But as the kinda guy who likes making good things bettter im excited to hear what bolder riders than myself have to suggest on this.
theres my rambling 2cents.
sorry.
ps- eat your vegitables and wear clean undies.
