About to do my 1st oil change on my 99 CBR F4, previous owner told me he ran "honda g4n oil" i believe. Should i keep running this or switch? What oil filter should i run? Im at 11,000 miles, and the only maintence has been oil changes. Should i do anything else, like the ail filter? How often should i change the oil?

I recommend Mobli1 4T Motorcycle Oil. Its expensive but hey it makes my ***** bigger.

 

I run a 1358 Napa/Wix fliter, never had a problem with it. I used to run AMSOIL 10w40 motorcycle oil but have recently switched to REPSOL oil. Can't really tell a difference but both did the job of lubricating my CBR.

 

U ever use Repsol? I went from honda to Repsol and noticed a difference. Hows the mobil stuff?

 

IDK what to tell you. My bike was perfect before the I went to mobil and its still perfect after. I can't tell a difference between perfection.

 

I have used mobil in a lot of bikes with good results, best ever and all the engine builders and drag guys here swear buy is lucas oil, it is soo good, I can tell on long wheelies as it doesn't chatter ever...

 

I just tried using the mobil 1 4t for motorcycles and I didn't like it. my shifts didn't feel as smooth and felt kinda thin if that makes any sense to ya thats the best way I can describe it. I went back to the Honda GN4 stuff and I noticed the difference. just my 2cents. good luck and let us know what you think.

Ps; I've used the mobil 4t stuff on other bikes and had good results so it prolly is bike to bike with different results for each one.

 

I use Mobil 15 50 car oil

or Rotela 15w 40 i think...


with honda filter or purolator filter... and thinking about going to walmart supertech filters... heard alot of good stuff about them... not being ****ty and being really cheap!

 

I use a honda oil filter with Repsol now. Used the honda stuff and switched to Repsol and did notice a difference.
