Default Water eruption from radiator at 1/2 temp

Hi!
Today I was refilling the radiator, and let the bike run without the filler cap to allow it to bleed the air. When the temp gauge arrived at 1/2 scale, the water started erupting from the radiator filler neck.

Is this normal?

I know that the fan is supposed to kick in just a bit after that needle position.

I think it is normal. My guess is it was just some trapped air that came out at once, pushing out whatever coolant was on top of it.

Normal. Path of least resistance.
