starting and running issues
part 1: history
part 2: questions
soo in my previous tread which i unfortunatly lost, I was telling about my issues starting in may. i will give a short version with keynotes at the end.
so i was riding on a tuesday in may. about a 100km on that day no issues. I cannot remember if I was riding the next day but on thursday I rode for about half an hour playing a small rev battle in traffic, and I got home and went to a buddy about 3 hours later. when I arrived(after 2 mins) my motorcycle turned off from neutral and wouldn't start again for a few hours, i put new fuel in which didn't fix it. and after 2 hours it started but fell out when i tried to change into 1st gear. then another 2 hours later our triple A came and i could ride it even get it into 3 but when i got to a standstill it was idling i tried to give gas and it stopped.
that is the moment it happened. after that i did the following:
-put new spark plugs in
-tested for spark(not intensity)
-cleaned and restored carbs(had a bit of oxidation but no plugs)
-put mostly new fuel lines in
-drained the tank
-buddy of mine gave me his old fuel pump from a yzf600r and i installed it(i bought it without fuel pump unknowing it had one)
-and charged the battery
I started it again and boom it started. i drove 2 km and it fell out right as I was coming to a stop. without turning on
week later i tried it again and i was stupid and didn't connect the pump so i plugged it in and i drove this time for more then 2km a stunning 3 km before failing.
now i have ordered the better recommended fuel pump from tourmaxx, as it is vehicle specific, and it got reccomended a few times on the site.
I got 2 questions
1. where should i point my tourmaxx fuel pump condensation plug, i thing towards the bottom but i am asking to be sure
2.. i was talking to a motorcycle mechanic who has done some work on this kind of generation cbr. he said that the fuel pump connector is prone to oxidation, but it could also be the cdi since this is the first generation using this kind of ignition coils, or maybe my RR.
do you guys have any other questions, or ideas what it could be, as I am on a standstill till my order arrives, or do you guys have other solutions.
thank you in advance.
dear regards,
Diego
