stalls ater long ride
when I ride for while 40+miles and I am stting idel the bike starts to idel ruff, then it will sometimes shutoff...think it might be the carbs ut not sure....didnt have time to check today...think i am going to clean them and get new plugs....any other suggestions?
mine does the same thing. I haven't really tried to find the problem but I think it is a combination of dirty carbs and the carbs heating up when you are stopped. Does it still stumble after you ride 40 miles on the highway and come to a stop sign? Mine acts up at long lights so I either shut the bike off at the light or if no one is around just carefully go through the light.

I am pretty sure that it is not the plugs. I replaced them soon after I got the bike and it still did the same thing. The old plugs looked perfect. I think it runs really rich when the carbs heat up. I'll check my pilot screw to see if that might help.
How about your vacuum lines? Maybe your carbs aren't staging properly. Before I'd play with any adjustment on the carbs, I'd check the four hoses that go from the back of your air box to each carb first, if the tabs on your airbox are broken, plug them with some screws, but check all the vacuum lines in the bike. My buddies bike, an older yammy, had simular symptoms and that's what we found was the problem, vacuum issues.
I cleaned the carbs...smooth idel, doesnt wanna die anymore....went for a few long rides, stoped for about 3 mins, and before I would have tohold the throttle some, not anymore....
put aboutr 500 miles on her since I cleaned the carbs...it died on me the other day twice at a light....took the tank off, and checked all the vaccum lines, my fuel hose line was all cracked, replaced that, all the vaccum lines looked good. I did notice one of the rubber carb boots that is supose to be on the air box was actually on the crab stack....so i put that back on the airbox...dont know if that could cause the issue or not? other then that cant really think what else would cause it to do this....the plugs still looked good
