seat lock
hey i have a 99 cbr600f4 and when i baught it the seat lock was missing and the cable was hanging out where the lock is suppose to be. I went to the honda dealer and i baught a seat lock, now the problem i have is this, they gave me the lock and a key but i did not pay any attention when they gave it to me, but when i got home to put it on the bike there is no way for the lock to stay on, it just hangs their. My question is did they forget to give me a part or what secures it into place and holds it on the bike and not just hanging like my cable does. thanks for the help
There is a small sheet metal U shaped retainer that slips into the groves of the lock on the inside to hold it......as for forgetting to give it to you......its probably got its own part number and doesn't come with the lock.
best place to find part numbers and odd to name parts is this site

I had to get the specific bolt and nut for the clutch lever to keep it from wiggling, the schematics really help out. order it and it'll come in in like 3 days
part you're looking for is p/n 106446-001, about tree fiddy on bikebandit

Check out this site too, they have pretty good exploded view drawings. http://www.babbittsonline.com/pages/...d/7/Honda.aspx
Looks like you need- SPRING, LOCK KEY SETTING (Honda Code 2908895) & STAY, SEAT LOCK CABLE (Honda Code 5215710)
