i guess the reserve gauge does not work right a few miles after it came on i ran out. oh well

however now that i have a gas in it it starts and revs all the way up just fine but when you are crusing with the rpm in one place it feels like it is missfiring or lunging forward just a little bit hope i descibed that well enough.

its an 02 f4i with 26xxx i just bought it a few months ago and changed all the plugs, oil, coolant, clutch, brakes, ect

any advise would be appreciated

I would also say change the fuel filter.. especially if it has some miles on it...

 

Fuel filter. Chances are you had sediment built up at the bottom of the tank and it probably got sucked through once the tank went dry. Swap it out and you should be good to go. I would check/clean the fuel lines just to be sure.
