I have a 00 CBR 600 F4. It set in my garage for 1.5 years and I just started riding it again. When I stored it the bike ran great. Now the bike is acting weird. It starts and runs, but it acts like it has a slight hesitation on the throttle. Also when your just cruising at any set speed the rpm fluctuates a little and it sounds horrible. I've put new fuel in it and had the carbs cleaned and put in new plugs but it didn't help. I still haven't changed the air filter, which I know I need to do. I just don't think thats the whole problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

same thing happened to my 99' F4. cleaned the carbs, new feul, and a new battery and she off and a running. if you change the filter and throw a new power source in there, I would think that would do it.However, by no means am I mechanically inclined. Good luck

 

I just bought my bike and it also sat for close to two years. I did the same: cleaned carbs, new fuel and battery and now she's running like a champ. You should definitely change the air filter, though i don't think it'll do much to solve your problem unless it's really clogged up. I would say the next thing to do is get the carbs synced...

 

Thanks. I'm getting a new air filter this week and I'm going to see about getting my carbs in sync. How much am I looking at to get my carbs synced? Will it be cheaper to get the stuff and do it myself??
