Default Oil Drain Plug Info

I am just curious if the bolt used to plug the bottom of the oil pan is a regular 12X15 ( that is the size of the oem bolt) Hex bolt. I have heard rumours there is sometimes a small magnet on the tip to attract small metal shavings in your oil. I have a oem bolt on order but cannot wait the 4 weeks they have told me it would be to ride and any info would be greatly appreciated!

Also any tips on taking out a COMPLETELY rounded off hex bolt would be handy as well .. THANKS!

Crap...wish I could help you. I may have a similar problem after a few more oil changes. The last owner already damaged the corners on mine and when I was changing my oil today I accidentally used a 13mm instead of the 12mm when I first tried to take it off...made it a bit worse but the 12mm still took it off.

Yes the tip of the bolt is magnetic. You could try using something like a vice clamp on it and just cranking it very tight and hope it works.
