Section 3-16 (pg60-64) of factory Honda Service Manual for Drive Chain. Pg61 specifically for lubrication.
Honda recommends #80-90 gear oil or equivalent for lubrication. Basically, any quality chain lube will be sufficient.
How I lube my chain after cleaning & inspection... I have the bike up on my rear stand...bike in neutral. I put an open section of newspaper behind the chain to protect overspray, so it doesn't get on the wheel/tire/etc. I spray chain lube onto a section of the chain (newspaper catching overspray), roll the wheel forward to advance the chain an increment & spray, repeat.
When done lubricating, let sit for lube to absorb into chain. Then, gently roll the wheel to advance chain completely around to even out lube. Done.
