Default NO START!!!

Hey, my 2000 f4 is acting funny. Sometime when I turn the ignition on the neutral light and the oil light come on as they should. But when I press the start button, I hear a click which sounds like one of the relays in the rear of the bike and the electric system shuts off? Then I turn the key off and back on but the neutral and oil lights do not come back on. After a couple minutes it will turn back on but the same thing happens. ....It usually takes about four to five tries and about 45 minutes, but eventually the bike starts....anyone have any ideas as to why its doing this? I bought the bike new and have not had any problems until now. .....any help is appreciated. Thanks

Alex

Default RE: NO START!!!

New to trouble shooting bikes but had a similar issue with mine. Has the battery been replaced? How many volts is the battery reading off and while running. if the battery reads less while on...your voltage regulator is going out. as did mine...(see post in this section). Post the results of the voltage and i am sure more people will be able to help more.

Good Luck!

+1 on dying battery. a lot of weird problems like that can be solved by a new battery. I'd have it tested. If you do need a new battery, make sure it's received it's activation charge. For more info, check this out.
