Default Low power on incline (1st gear)

Hi,

I need a little advice on my bike. I got my CBR 600F4 a few months ago and absolutely love her. I got some help here when my bike my back-firing badly and wouldn't start. Turned out it was the spark plugs, which according to the service invoice, should have been replaced 2000 km prior. I probably forgot the choke on a few times when I was learning to ride and fouled the plugs. Or it may be a bigger issue with the bike, I'm not sure.

When I was practising my hill starts I noticed the bike pulls away very slowly on a steep incline and then suddenly accelerates very fast when the engine hits 2500 - 3000 rpm. I doubt this is normal, but I don't have enough experience to know

Once the bike is going I haven't noticed any severe power issues, but again I don't really have anything to compare it to. There is a vibration though at around 6000 rpm that I can feel through the fuel tank that goes away if I open the throttle a bit more.

I have changed the air filter and spark plugs and checked the HT coils as well. Where do I start now? Could these issues be caused by valve clearances, a slack cam chain or carb issues? Should I get the bike dyno'ed?

Thanks.

Not really sure from your post what exactly you're describing as a possible problem. Difficult to determine this one over the interwebs w/ your description(s). Basically, we could speculate w/ dozens of posts & not get to the root of the problem w/o more information or better detailed description.

You could have one issue or multiple issues. Could be something as simple as your idle not being set high enough (higher rpm). Could be a carb problem. Could be a fuel delivery problem. Could be a clutch problem. It could be a simple issue or a more complex one.

I recommend taking it to a factory Honda repair shop & having a thorough inspection done.

Hope you're able to get it fixed quickly.
