Hey guys! New to the forum and to CBR ownership! I recently bought a 2000 CBR600F4 with 19k miles. I wasn't sure what the previous owner had done in maintenance so I started tearing it apart and fixing the little things. After cleaning the chain and sprockets I saw that they're labeled Vortex, and the chain is red. Is there an easy way to figure if the chain and sprockets are non-oem spec like up or down in teeth?
@JckHmr Hi and welcome to the forum. The chain probably isn't going to have part numbers on it, but you can measure the width between the side plates to determine if it's a 525 or not. The sprocket most likely has part numbers on it to search the manufacturers site. A magnet will tell you if the rear sprocket is steel or an aluminum alloy. Just from the image, both chain and sprocket look to be in great shape. Counting the teeth is only way to tell if they are stock or not.
