Is there a different between a gas tank and a gas tank cover? If so, what is it? Also, I have a 2000 CBR F4, and am looking for a gas tank/gas tank cover whatever. Basically I have a gas tank on the bike right nwo from the factory, but I want a diff color. My bike is crea white all over right now, and I just bought some stock red and black fairings. Anyways, can I use a gas tank/tank cover form an F4i? I just want it to be red and black, and not have to paint. It looks like it would match up. I dont know...any ideas?

 

Some bikes come with a "gas tank Cover" its basically just another plastic piece that covers up the real gas tank. I had one on my FZR600. Under the cover was a black metal container that held the gas. You will need the gas tank because the CBR you are talking about holds the gas in the gas tank that is the painted piece. If it was just a gas tank cover it would be a lot cheaper to replace and there wouldnt be any dented gas tanks for CBR's unless they made the cover out of metal. But anyway im going to stop talking now. I don't know if the f4i tank will work for your bike though maybe someone with a little more knowledge on the changes that were made from 2000 to 2001 could let you know though hope my 2 cents helped
