Default Front wheel removal help please

Hi,

I did a search and came up empty and google returned contradictory information. I need to ride 2 hours away to get a friends wheels off her f4 as she is being deployed to germany and we want to change her tires out before they ship it over.

Now i just need to know what size socket do i need for the front wheel removal? And is it a normal socket or a hex socket such as these ?

All the bikes i ever owned had a hex socket for the front, but last week at the track i walked over to a 2002 f4i and to remove his wheel you needed a normal 22mm socket.

He told me that all the cbrs he has ever owned have been 22mm front. Online i saw a post where someone said they think its a 20mm hex socket for the front. So please let me know as i need to get this done tomorrow and i have to know if i need to buy the proper tool for it.

Sorry, cant be bothered explaining it but make sure when putting everything back together that the forks are perfectly aligned/parallel. This is exactly what I do every time I install the forks or just the front wheel. It's basically the same as the print out I was given when I had a suspension tuner re-valve my MX bikes suspension. I know it's titled fork installation but it has what you need in there as well.

Oh, and I know you asked about removal but at some stage (we're hoping) you will be putting the front wheel back on. This is a very overlooked part of bike maintenance that I'm sure a lot of people do incorrectly. Basically they're just installing the front wheel without even knowing how important it is to proper fork operation.

Yeah, Im aware of linning up the forks properly. Most videos ive seen on it say to push down on the top triple compressing the forks a few times. Its worked so far for me.
