Default F4 petcock bypass?

Hey everyone, fresh meat here. So the petcock was leaking fuel pretty bad in the garage this afternoon. I go to look up the part number for it, low and behold the part is discontinued. So since this petcock is gravity fed and not vacuum, would it be ok to put a female NPT with an inline valve and fuel filter? Do I run the risk of flooding the carbs?

Just replaced my petcock, with brand new genuine, so it must supersede. BTW "Off" does NOT stop fuel flow.

My petcock also seems to be a little ****ed. Did you happen to find the part number anywhere? I don't mind purchasing a used one for myself. As for your question I have no idea what would happen lol

The off position stops fuel flow on mine, but I also am in need of a new petcock as mine seeps, doesnt leak any drops but is always moist if that makes sense, and yes they are discontinued thru bikebandit and partzilla.

Part number would be awesome, thanks.

You can get an aftermarket petcock valve online. I just bought one myself.

Part number for new genuine petcock is 16950 MBW 023 as supplied earlier this year.
