F4 to F4 "i" Build Thread...
Resolved. Guy refunded me and told me I could keep it. Didn't even want me to send it back! Score! He did have a split seat frame after all but it was banged up pretty bad. The hunt continues! However, I did pick up a set of F4i gauges...go big or go home, I guess. Haha
I should have bought one!
Anyway, no real update on the bike...just waiting for parts to come in.
Here's what is on it's way.
F4i split seat subframe with complete battery tray (seriously this time...haha)
2 sets of F4i gauges. Don't ask. Haha
OEM Stator Cover (right now there is a racing one on leaking oil)
Two Bros M2 exhaust
F4 header
Full F4i fairing kit
I'm hoping to have subframe and gauges this weekend.

Wiring the gauges

Stator cover

Clutch case cover

Split seat subframe

With battery tray attached

On the bike...trying to figure out where to mount everything

Test fitting the TBR exhaust.

Anyone know what the black and green wires go to?

Got the gauge wired up...anyone know why the neutral light still stays on even when in a different gear?

A little update. Bike doesn't run!
Something happened between putting the gauge together, getting the fairings on, filling up with new oil and new rad fluid, and starting that the bike did not like!
I did get it started after all of that, even ran it for about 10 minutes with the TBR exhaust. Noticed the wires were causing the gauge to flicker and try the speedo cycle repeatedly even with it just sitting there and not touching anything.
So, I checked the fuses. Would appreciate some input on this...I have a 5, 7.5, 3 10's, a 15 and a 30. The 5 and 7.5 are serving no purpose right now and are very loose. But they're in the slot of the ignition fuse. How is that possible?! Wish I had a picture.
Anyway, I started looking over the wire harness to find out where it could have shorted or anything. Since I needed to rewire the F4i headlight to the bike, I needed to find the original F4 headlight harness. Well, it turns out there was no harness!
So, I got very suspicious with the entire wire harness and took a closer look. Every place I looked, the harness seems to have been tampered with and multiple wires spliced and rewired.
As skilled as I think I am, I was not about to figure out how to get it back to 'normal' and why it was the way it was in the first place. I decided to buy a 'new' harness. Found one on ebay for 70 bucks. only wires spliced are front headlight and rear lights, so since I will already have to wire those myself, I decided it was worth a shot. I'll have it here on Wednesday and will need to rewire the gauge again...but I'm okay with that. I'll try and do a better job with it.
Stay updated! Looking forward to riding it soon since I now have my permit! Time to practice! Getting very impatient.

Interesting...it's like my posts didn't show up from yesterday!
Well, I already know how the tach is wired since I did it once! but with this new wire harness coming in, I'll have to do it again. I'm okay with that. I'll probably make it much better this time. Harness should be here tomorrow so I'll provide an update then.

Harness is all installed. All wiring is 98% complete. Still trying to figure out the high beam headlight connection from the F4 harness to the F4i headlight harness.
Wired the hotbodies flush front mount turn signals.
Rewired the gauge cluster again to the new harness.
Wired the hotbodies integrated tail lights with turn signals.
A few things left to finish up like taping up the headlight wire mess, making sure all wires do not get caught or pinched when turning the bike and then it's just the fairings after that!
I do need to replace the rear tire, and I will after I get it all finished up. Already have a tire, just need to have it replaced.
Looks like I have a new set of fairings on the way too since I was very unhappy with the set that was first sent to me. The seller offered to send me a new set free of charge. We will see how they turn out.
