I found a set of off brand gauges but the bolts to hold it on to the bracket actually match up exactly to the three bolts that hold together the two pieces of the stay. Not quite as fancy as the f4i ones but just as affective and only $70 on ebay

Oh, I already did. Hardest part for me is that I'm putting it on am f2 that is cable driven...so I had to find the nest way to do the magnet pickup for the speedo ( it comes with the magnet and mounting ****) I did.some research though and found.a company in Europe that sold me a cable that hooks directly into my stock speedo hook up on the wheel and has the magnets built in so hopefully it all goes smooth. With an f4 though, it should just be a matter of splicing wires . It came with a nice manual that tells you what each wire is for do you just have to find out where the wires on the bike go and match em up

There's a set of F4i gauges on ebay....for 40 bucks. But it's pretty damaged and doesnt seem to work. Wont be picking that up!

But my split seat subframe will be here tomorrow! You know what that means?! The bike goes back together! At least the rear end. Still waiting on my fairing kit.

Picked up some Rotella T6 and a Mobil 1 M1-110 filter today.

I've got a lot of stuff I need to get rid of though. Just gotta wait to get my post count up! I know, I know...no whoring! :giggle:

You'll have a good time doing the split-seat. It goes together very easily. Just take your time & do it right.

Is there a wrong way to do it? I guess I just thought it was straightforward and that it's just a replacement. Hmm.

Now, I have the rear brake light for the F4i conversion...but realized that it only bolts to the battery tray and since my f4i battery tray is cut out for the license plate and rear turn signals...how would I manage to mount the brake light? I might just have to eyeball it once I get everything settled.

I would install it to the subframe, If you want check out these. Comes with a bracket to mount the light to the subframe and it really cleans up the undertail!

I have the Competition Werkes Fender Eliminator on my '01-03 split-seat tail. However, you don't have to purchase the CWFE to utilize the same system. There are threads here on the forum - F4/F4i section - that show you how to make your own copy of the CWFE for just a few bucks. The CW type FE utilizes two brackets to support the stock F4i split-seat tail light.

BTW, thx for posting up your pics. While we've all seen conversion mod pics b/f, its always nice to see new pics from dif viewpoints.
