Default F4 to F4 "i" Build Thread...

Hi all,

Just signed up here and picked up my 2000 F4 last Saturday. Got a good deal on this bike since it has a bit of frame damage. Has 17k miles.

Some pics of the day I got her.

So far, found a lot of zipties, hoses just hanging, hoses damaged, but a SOLID engine!

As of now, the bike is naked and I have the gas tank off, all fairings off, gauge cluster off, headlight off (came with the F4i headlight).

Here are pics as of now.

Bike is raised up for that aftermarket handle bar. Will be getting rid of that.

So far, I've ordered the F4i fairing kit, front main stay, a carbon fiber helmet, and a replacement clutch case cover.

Also, shining up the header a bit just in the meantime!

Any feedback would be great!

One question...do I need the F4i fairing stay arm for the conversion too?

Found someone with a split seat subframe. 75 bucks. Not bad.

Got my zeronine carbon fiber helmet today! Pretty excited about that.

Yes you need the f4i front fairing stay I hear the 2 piece ones are pretty solid.

You also seem to be missing the whole battery tray/undertail.. If the VIN is good on the frame and you have a title, you're good.

The previous owner cut out the rear part of the undertray to fit the triumph exhaust under the subframe. The battery is still in the tray so I am def looking for a new one.

Not sure about this f4i frame. It's in great condition but the guy says its for stunt or track use only. I would assume that means the title is bad then?

You prob assume correctly. You need a *clean* title/frame.

Well, I just went to check it out. It's flawless. The guy just didn't have the title so that's why he's selling cheap.

100 bucks for a straight clean f4i frame? I'm okay with that!
