Ok I have been searching and searching and cant find the answer soooo... IBought a 2000 CBR F4 frame REALLY cheap so i decided to build a track day bike for fun. I'm going to put race plastic on it but I'm not sure if I need the F4I subframe or if it matters if I use the F4. I will use the F4I solo seat from a 2001 F4I. The plastics all say they are for the 2001 so I assume I need the F4I subframe.Thanks for any help.

i think if you want to use the F4i split/solo seat, you'll need to use an F4i subframe. that is the case if doing an F4i tail conversion on an F4, but i guess it could be different depending on how the race plastics fit. someone else may be able to answer more accurately.

cheaper to use the 99-00/04-06 subframe than shelling out the 200 bux most people want for their 01-03 subframe. after you put that on you can just pick up the race tail airtech offers for the banana seat subframe.

of course like you said, if you need the split seat style(both seats...dunno why if its a track bike no point in riding 2 up) then you'd need the 01-03 subframe. the superbike tail airtech has negates shelling out extra for the IMO wasted use of the 01-03 split seat subframe when they already make a single seat 1 piece tail for the much cheaper 'nana seat subframe
