connect car or marine battery to bike?
im taking my bike to the swan city fathers day car show next weekend. i am also hoping to have all my new lights installed before the weekend. i want to have all the lights to be lit up during the show, except the headlight. but i would probably end up draining my battery completely dead.. so would it hurt my bike any if i pull the fuses for everything except the ones for the lights, then disconnect the battery and hook the bike to a larger battery just for the show? i have a marine battery in a case that would work great, just dont know if it would harm the bike..

IIRC, you can run it off of the car/boat battery if it's 12v and the bike is 12v, but you can't jumpstart it with a running car because of it's 14.4V~ charging system. But I'd wait for a second/third opinion.
yea, thats what i was thinking. its a 12 volt system, so i didnt think it would hurt anything. just thought id double check. but now i know never to jump start from a running car! thats something i did not know. good thing i havent had to do that yet.
I think it's one of those things you "Shouldn't do" but not a bike-ender. I've done it before, on this bike, and old 2000GSXR. I'm not saying that I will use that method over charging the battery or even push starting, but I've done it a few times and seemingly hurt nothing.
