Default Chain slack & adjusting

On the chainguard of my F4, chain slack is listed as 1 1/4in (if memory serves). My buddy was telling me that to him it looks a tad loose... Another listing that I saw online somewhere listed slack as 1inch to 1 and 3/8 inch.

Should I simply leave it alone or do you think that I should tighten it up just a bit.. Say... To 1 and 1/8?

I think it's okay. But I want to be sure.. How tight do you guys have your chains adjusted?

Thanks

The factory Honda service manual - Section 3-16, pg60, states: "Chain Slack: 25-35 mm (1-1 3/8")".

The F4 does not like a tight chain...a little looser it better. Of course, when I say "a little looser", that means - on the looser side of the chain slack recommendation of the service manual. ;-)

I'm with gotcbr; run on the loose side of the spec. IOW, I don't believe I'd mess with it if I were in your place.
