Default Chain slack

I have my chain causing my bike to surge, I always tighten the chain on the tight side but seems to have a streatched out area that is causing my bike to surge when i let off the throttle? has anyone had this happen before? my bike is a 05 and has 20k on it maybe time for a new one?

Come again?

20,000 miles? or 20,000 KM? either way that's a long time to have a Factory chain. I'd replace the chain and sprockets. don't get sucked into a 520 conversion kit. they just aren't worth it on the street. If you track ride, however, it might be a good investment.

i'd be floored if it were. most are masterlinked, but any chain can be made never-ending.

DID, RK, Regina, whatever... take your pick, but buy new sprockets as well. the one's you've got on there must be just TRASHED...

my 00' r6 came stock with a 530 chain/sprocket set-up. i only adjusted the chain twice in 7500 miles on that bike. i wonder if the f4i could be equiped with the same? that set-up, if taken care of, would last a hell of a long time.[&:]
