This might be a stupid answer but it happens. Did you check the "kill" switch on the right clip on and make sure it is in the "Run" position? Again, not to take away from your abilities, but it happens to the best of us. If the fuel pump is pumping gas, and it DID run, it stands to reason that fuel flow isnt a problem. If it ran before it also stands to reason that the compression is there for an engine to run. That only leaves spark and again, if it WAS there it probably still is. Check the switch. If it's correct, pull a plug and ground it out on the enging or frame and crank it. Look for spark.
i had a similar problem. my pump went out. replaced it, filter and hoses and it still wouldnt kick over without starter fluid. couldnt figure it out. turns out fuel was not geting to to the engine... but it was in the new filter and the pump was working.
1. check your fuel on/off (yes, you need to pull the tank to do this)
2. check your air filter (prob not this though, it usually runs even with a clog, it may just not run well when its clogged)
3. check the hoses for clogs and kinks from the tank untill the manifold. check for fuel leaks too.... i had one due to faulty o-rings in the manifold housing where one of the delrun "t" brackets was.
4. you might just be running rich too.... maybe flooded it with too much gas or something. you can clear this by waiting.
