i will remove the fork and get them checked out i didnt realise the f4i fitted on the f4 that give me some more options.
Dont mean to sound stupid here but can you just change that fork tube if thats the part thats bent or is it better to just change the lot.
Again thanks for your advice you like a god on here.
Glad to help.

Yes, being able to use F4i forks really makes it convenient when 99-00 forks can't be found. Having that direct-replacement option is nice to have.

Yes, you can piecemeal replace individual parts. However, its often more economical to just replace the complete fork(s) w/a used one.

Hey today I striped the front end down removed the forks. Put in a new fairing stay and cleaned everything up nice.
When I went to put the wheel back on it went on ok and when rolling it round without the calipers on was ok. When I put the calipers back on it seemed to really stiffen up. I have torque to right settings and sprayed some brake cleaner on and around the pots it's defo dragging on the calipers anybody got any suggestions.
Going to take the forks in to get checked am sure one of themselves out.

It's a constent sssshhhhhhh it's very quite.
If the forks are bent you can't see it by eye when there together.
I thought it was the fairing stay. So replaced that needed to anyway. Iv not been out on it to check it out yet to see if any things changed. Could the calipers just be dirty and need a good clean or maybe iv over tighted the front axle nut. It's defo dragging.
Can anyone answer this if your looking at the breaks and you press the lever should all four pots come out in sync because some are coming out at different rates how do you combat this?

So some might not want to hear this but when I bought my F4 it had been down a few times, and the front tire pointed the same way yours was. Handle bars straight tire slightly bent. I loosened the top triple clamp and the bottom triple clamp had someone holded the handle bars then did the old kick the tire. Just like we all used to do on our bicycles. And problem fixed straight as an arrow ever since. Yeah not the best way but it's been going strong three years since and it was cheap.

I did think of that bit thought it might make things worse the only thing iv done along those lines are holding the bars and pulling the tyre never tries kicking it. Was there any effect on handleing

No my bike rides like brand new, I did end up getting a new brake rotor though it was bent. Thing is you can't really damage it any worse than what it already is, it seems pretty screwed as is lol.

Right a quick update after stripping the front again and setting everything back up after a caliper clean it's has to be the forks it's seems to have gotten worse. To me riding it it looks like the right hand one has bent forwards thus making the bars go to the left when riding straight. I reakon iv spun the fork tube when off thus making it look worse or appear worse. I dropped the bike to the right aswell so must be that. Gong to have to strip again and take in to local shop. I did try give it kick but didn't do anything. An gussing you can't just bend it back.

Nope sounds like you need a new set of forks. Might as well look for all the different conversions you can do that way your fork options are greater and possibly find a better price. And inverted forks would be sweet.

Just fix it correctly. There are obviously damages that need repair/replacement.

NO, you can't "just bend it back". If the tube/tubes are truly bent, you'll have to replace them. Don't try to recreate the wheel, so to speak, just get direct replacement forks & get back to riding. Any '99-00 F4 fork or '01-06 F4i will be direct replacement. There are many more F4i forks floating around for sale out there. Get a pair of straight ones, service them yourself b/f installing on your bike, & you'll be good to go.
