Default Backfiring / exhaust popping problem!

Hi guys, I have previously posted some threads about my bike (99 CBR 600) not being able to start and finally I have had her running for the past couple of weeks. I've been running into a few problems though. Sometimes she runs and rides just fine and i'll be able to ride around town with no problems and other times she bogs down and theres a lot of exhaust popping and shuts off. And then i'll have trouble getting it started again.
I was thinking maybe it has something to do with the carbs; perhaps they need to be cleaned but then i read on here that carb cleaning is usually the case for when the bike has been sitting. I don't think it sat for any long periods of time but I'm not 100% sure.
Anyway I'm on my way to get some Seafoam from the store now and see if that helps any but any other advice or input would be helpful.

Yeah, i had a lay down last week and it hasn't started since so right now it's at the honda service center getting a full evaluation. It's very possible that the carbs just needed cleaning. A new fuel pump was just installed when i bought the bike so that shouldn't be the source of the problem.

Are you making sure to just use supreme gas not plus or regular?

I use regular, just like the user and service manuals state. Actually I get better performance and gas mileage as well. Ignition has been advanced 6 degrees too.
